Artist Book OVERVIEW
Komorebi, is a Japanese word that translates to “The sunlight that filters through the leaves of trees”. I chose to interpret this word as meaning “there will always be light at the end of the tunnel”, referring to depression/mental health issues. I created the book entirely out of translucent materials and typeset the green body text into leaf shapes. This creates a cool effect when the book is held up to sunlight as the sunlight shines through the type. In addition to the book, I decided to create a companion case. The case is also created with translucent materials and has leaves locked in the front of the case to provide the same light effect.
